Located in Southeast Portland, Lone Fir Cemetery’s 30+ acres are filled with local history and also contain the city’s second-largest arboretum.
Lone Fir’s first burial occurred in 1846 when Portland existed only on the west side of the river. The cemetery was officially established 11 years later and many notable Portlanders were laid to rest amongst these towering trees and winding paths. Need more convincing? In 2012, National Geographic named Lone Fir one of the 10 best cemeteries in the world.
