Celebrated in communities from coast to coast, National Bike Month was established in 1956 and is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.

National Bike to Work Week will be held on May 15-19. Bike to Work Day is May 19!

Here in Portland we're celebrating with the Bike More Challenge; a fun, free competition to encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to experience first hand the joys and benefits of riding a bike.

Businesses compete against each other to see who can get the most staff to ride a bike and log their trips between May 1-31. A simple points model allows workplaces to compete with each other across their size category. It’s not just about who can ride the most miles, but also who can encourage the most people to give bicycling a try.

Bike More Challenge this year will be the new opportunity for participants to encourage new riders to join the team by using BIKETOWN or adding to their own totals by adding shorter trips throughout the day. For example, take a ride at lunch, run an errand or attend a meeting.

We have bulk Single Ride & Day Passes available at a discounted rate and will be offering a discounted annual membership for the month as well.

With all of the road and rail construction slated to begin downtown on April 30th, it's really the perfect time to try biking.

We look forward to seeing many of your happy faces on the streets next month and all summer long!
