VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

The BIKETOWN Community Design Challenge finalists have just been revealed and voting is open to determine the winning designs.

The result will be five new BIKETOWN limited edition bike wrap designs—one to represent each of Portland’s five “quadrants.” The five winners will be announced in May 2018, and the winning designs will be added to BIKETOWN’s fleet throughout the summer. BIKETOWN members (anyone who has created an account qualifies as a member) can cast their votes at: www.biketowndesignchallenge.com

Here’s a quick refresher on the timeline of how we got here:

On February 14, BIKETOWN kicked off the BIKETOWN Design Challenge, celebrating the city’s creative culture, community spirit, and unique neighborhoods, all united by BIKETOWN. Portlanders were invited to “Show Us Your Portland” and create original designs for limited-edition BIKETOWN bike wraps, illustrating what they love about the five neighborhood quadrants served by the public bike share system.

Earlier this month, Nike Chairman, President and CEO Mark Parker welcomed a panel of Portland’s art and design experts – including Mayor Ted Wheeler, Nike Chairman, Nike Chief Design Officer John Hoke, William Rihel of the Regional Arts Commission, Joy Alise Davis, Culture+Design Lab LLC founder, Victoria Frey, Executive Director of Portland Institute for Contemporary Arts (PICA), Don Tuski, President of Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) and Karrelle Dixon, Managing Director, Wieden+Kennedy – who selected the 15 finalist design entries.
