Welcome to 2017! We're well on our way to a stellar year and before we get too far along, we'd like to take a quick look back at an impressive 2016. We launched Portland’s bike share program on July 19th, took over 160K rides, hosted our first Women’s Bike Month, and kicked off BIKETOWN for All in October. Where to find them, what the law says & how to use them. One of the keys to the success of BIKETOWN has been spontaneous trips. It's easy, affordable and convenient to jump on a bike and go! Trips like these, by their nature, don't typically include a helmet. After all, most people don't carry a helmet with them, even in Portland. That doesn't mean future trips have to be helmet-free.
